Inside and outside of Oakland

A little tea please?

Two years after the tea party burst out in opposition to national health care reform, tea party groups say they're here to stay.

In Rochester Hills, the South East Michigan 9.12 Project holds “The Great American Rally” from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, on the east side of Rochester Road, north of M-59 and south of Auburn Road.
The group says the rally is open to all "tea partiers and patriots."
Attendees are asked to park in the north part of the Lowes parking lot, and the west side of the Meijers parking lot.
On Sunday in Commerce Township, state Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, is the guest speaker at the Lakes Area Tea Party's meeting Sunday, May 15, at 33860 Newton Road.
The doors open at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m.
