Voters casting absentee ballots can now track their ballots online.
“I’m pleased to highlight the newest feature available on the Michigan Voter Information Center website,” said Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land. “You can easily track the progress of your absentee ballot and see when it arrives at your local clerk’s office, simply by entering your name or your driver’s license number and other information needed to identify you accurately. This is yet another way we’re using technology to provide benefits to our residents.”
The absentee ballot tracking feature notes when an application for an absentee ballot has been received by the local clerk’s office, when the ballot was sent and when the clerk received the returned ballot.
The Michigan Voter Information Center is at www.Michigan.gov/vote. The site allows voters to check whether they are registered to vote, print a sample ballot, find their polling place and locate their local clerk. They can also learn about Michigan’s voting equipment and how to apply for an absentee ballot.
