Truth Squad ranks latest ads in Michigan governor's race

The Michigan Truth Squad, a group reviewing political advertising in this year's race for Michigan governor, has evaluated political ads since last Thursday from Republican gubernatorial candidates Mike Cox, Pete Hoekstra and Mike Bouchard.

The Michigan Truth Squad cried "foul" over a Cox TV ad called "Blueprint" attacking Hoekstra, gave a "no foul" rating to a Hoekstra ad called "Leadership," and gave a technical foul to Bouchard's ad called "Look."

Also seeking the GOP nomination for governor besides Cox, Hoekstra and Bouchard are Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder and state Sen. Tom George. Democrats seeking their party's nomination are Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero and Michigan House Speaker Andy Dillon of Livonia.
