Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, one of five Republican candidates for governor, announced the endorsement of the Michigan Fraternal Order of Police.
The endorsement comes on the heels of Bouchard’s latest endorsements from the Detroit Regional Chamber, Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and the Police Officers Association of Michigan, Bouchard's campaign committee says.
With slightly more than four weeks to go until the Aug. 3 primary, Bouchard is in a five-way race for the GOP nomination with Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra and state Sen. Tom George.
Democrats seeking their party's nomination are Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero and Michigan Speaker of the House Andy Dillon.
