Kentucky U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is the latest gueset confirmed to
attend the 30th Biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference Sept. 20-22, perhaps giving a voice to tea party groups as Michigan Republicans develop their election playbook for 2014.
“Sen. Rand Paul is an influential voice in
the Republican Party today,” said Michigan Republican Party Chairman Bobby
Schostak, in a statement. “He is well known and respected for defending our civil liberties and
defining a bold, prosperous vision for our nation’s future while serving in
Washington."
Other confirmed speakers include Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is scheduled to give the keynote address when the conference opens Sept. 20.
