Gov. Rick Snyder signed a new law Wednesday that gives a boost to liquor license holders who cater off-premises events.
The new law creates a catering permit to allow holders of on-premises licenses to serve wine, beer and spirits to allow them to serve them at off-premises private events.
The legislation, introduced by state Sen. John Pappageorge, R-Troy, was Senate Bill 5 and is now Public Act 20.
